U4GM - 5 Elden Ring Items You Can Only Get in New Game+

Elden Ring is a masterpiece known for its deep worldbuilding, challenging gameplay, and rewarding exploration. Once you've completed your first journey through the Lands Between, New Game+ (NG+) offers a fresh challenge—and with it, access to unique rewards. For seasoned Tarnished looking to complete their inventory or power up their builds, NG+ opens the door to a few Elden Ring items that are either exclusive or far more accessible in this second playthrough.

This guide will explore 5 powerful and rare Elden Ring items that can only be obtained—or are significantly easier to obtain—in New Game+. If you’re on the hunt for Elden Ring all items or looking to complete your item collection, these NG+ exclusives are must-haves.

1. Second Copy of Remembrance Weapons

In your first playthrough, you're only able to duplicate a Remembrance once per Walking Mausoleum. However, since each boss drops only one Remembrance, you're forced to choose between two powerful rewards. In NG+, you get a second chance.

Why it's NG+ exclusive: In NG+, you can defeat the same bosses again and obtain the same Remembrances, allowing you to collect both weapons or spells tied to each.

Example: From the Remembrance of the Blasphemous, you can now obtain both the Blasphemous Blade and Rykard’s Rancor, enhancing both your melee and spellcasting capabilities.

  • Key Use: Collect every possible Remembrance reward for build flexibility and full item completion.

2. Second Unique Talisman Copies

Many Elden Ring items include powerful talismans that provide stat boosts or combat enhancements. Normally, you’re limited to one copy per playthrough. In NG+, however, you can pick them up again.

Why it's NG+ exclusive: Equipping two of the same talisman is possible with modded builds or PvP scenarios, and NG+ is the only legitimate way to acquire multiples of certain talismans.

Example: The Radagon Scarseal and Radagon’s Source Seal can both be re-acquired, allowing for dual builds across characters or experimentation with damage boosts.

  • Key Use: Build versatility, especially in PvP or specialized PvE loadouts.

3. Second Version of Legendary Armaments

To unlock the Legendary Armaments achievement, you must collect all nine unique weapons. However, one of them—the Devourer’s Scepter—can be permanently missed if you kill the wrong NPC before the right time. NG+ provides a second chance.

Why it's NG+ exclusive: Many players miss specific quest-related items on their first run. NG+ gives a clean slate and the ability to approach NPCs with full knowledge of their arcs.

Example: If you failed to get the Devourer’s Scepter from Bernahl due to early aggression or missed triggers, NG+ allows you to reset and obtain it properly.

4. Alternate Questline Rewards

Some questlines offer mutually exclusive rewards depending on your choices. For example, siding with one NPC might lock you out of an item from another. NG+ lets you make the opposite choice.

Why it's NG+ exclusive: There’s no way to obtain both rewards in a single playthrough, making NG+ essential for completionists.

Example: Choosing to side with Fia instead of rejecting her questline lets you obtain the Mending Rune of the Death-Prince, while rejecting it gives you different rewards. NG+ allows you to get both across different cycles.

  • Key Use: Unlock every ending, rune, and NPC-specific gear piece.

5. Second Copy of Special Boss Armor Sets

While not technically items locked behind NG+, many boss armor sets can only be purchased once per playthrough. NG+ gives you the chance to buy the same armor again, which can be used for alternate characters or fashion flexibility.

Why it's NG+ exclusive: Certain bosses drop souls/remembrances that unlock their armor sets only after being defeated. Repeating the boss in NG+ re-unlocks the shop.

Example: You can re-buy Maliketh’s Set, Rykard’s Set, or Godrick’s Armor in Roundtable Hold, especially if you sold or missed parts of it before.

  • Key Use: Fashion Souls fans, completionists, and multi-build enthusiasts.
