Standard 6: Communication is one of 15 Care Certificate standards you must successfully complete to be awarded the Care Certificate. These learning resources have been designed to support you with the theoretical knowledge that underpins each standard. In order to achieve the standard, you will need to demonstrate to your assessor the application of the theory you have studied in your place of work. In Standard 6: Communication you will learn about the different ways people communicate, how it affects relationships at work and why we should observe and be receptive to an individual’s reactions when communicating with them. You will learn about barriers to communication, how to reduce them and the range of communication methods and styles that could help meet an individual’s communication needs and preferences, as well as where to find support to help with effective communication.
